When spouse's 485 application is pending

I have received my green card while my wife's 485 application is still pending. I am the primary applicant of the green card.

If I quit/lose my job, can that hamper my wife's green card application or for that matter even my future status here in US?

Thanks in advance!

technically speaking you have to be with your sponsoring employer for 6 months to 1 year after you get gc but as long as USCIS does not find out or your employer does not report to them you will be fine. I havent heard of cases where someone has got rejected after getting their gc. For your wife if they come up with an rfe that needs your employer's help as USCIS can ask anything then u would have to request the same from your ex employer in case u leave him.

But overall u will be fine

I have a concern. From where you read that "technically speaking we have to be with your sponsoring employer for 6 months to 1 year after you get gc but as long as USCIS does not find out or your employer does not report to them you will be fine"?

I am asking as people in EAD are leaving the sponsoring company. So why after getting the GC why cant we leave asap?

thanks in advance

;)

they are leaving as per the AC21 law before the I485 approval but we are talking about after the I485 approval and they can legally but if one remains with the same employer one has to be with the employer for 6 months to 1 year else it can be taken in for a a fraud as gc is for future employment and it is taken for granted that you continue to work after the GC is approved. Check with other gurus and they will tell you the same thing.

take it easy......
thanks
