when should I renew my EAD

My EAD is expiring in Jan-06. When should I start renew procedure. somewhere I read before 6 months, is that true? Also, does new EAD starts after expiry date if I apply in advance or from the day they issue new EAD? please advise.

You don't need to apply 6 months in advance. No center is taking that long. You want to have at least 90 days from when the USCIS gets your application in case you need to get an interim EAD. If you apply to early you will lose days. They date it from when they approve your application and not from the expiry of the old one.
