when should I get a receipt number

I file i-140/485 about one month ago. so far my lawyer didn't five any feed back yet. should I be getting a receipt number or something?

how do i know that my case was indeed filed?

Your lawyer will receive the receipt notice. It takes any where between 2 weeks to 2 months or even more these days to get the receipt.

The only source you have is your lawyer right now. There is no other way as of I know.
