When should I apply for my citizenship?

Hello,
The date on my Green Card shows as March 2003. Is this the date that I have to consider when applying for my Citizenship?.
Can I apply for Citizenship this December ( ie Dec 2007) when I am 4 Years and 10 months or in Feb 2008, when I complete 5 years.

Another question:-
If I file my application after 4 Years and 10 Months, Would INS process them immediatly or will they wait till I complete 5 years before processing them.?

You can file 90 days (not three months) before the 5 year mark provided you meet all other residency requirements. They will process it as they receive it.

Basically count 90 days before the date you became a resident. (Some people recommend to count something like 85 days to be on the safe side on how USCIS counts the 90 days).
