I got my green card (EB-1) on May 02, 2007. I had only a few very short-time (less than 3 weeks each per year) travels outside the US during all this period of time. I work as a professor at the University in the US, a diligent taxpayer, my English is fluent, and have never had any traffic tickets or other problems with law. When I am eligible to apply for citizenship - this year in May (after 4 years of staying in the US), or only the next year, or after 4 years and 9 months staying in the US? I have got very contradictory information from different web sites and friends regarding the right time for application. Could you please let me know the correct information?
