when is the good time to apply for GC?

I just start to work,when is the good time to apply GC? is it good to ask for applying GC now?will this affect my current job because I have to talk to HR and my mgr. which materials I need to prepare, do I need recommendation letter if I apply as EB2.

current employer is the one that you\'d want to be with for several years. The whole GC process normally takes about 2-3 years. I have seen some took as long as 5 years. The ridiculous INS regulations require starting over the whole process every time you change a job. It\'s not worth suffering several years with an employer who doesn\'t treat people well to get the GC.
 
Forget it

The best option is to forget it. the # of rejections has escalated in the recent past. There have been rejects for flimsy reasons (did not staple the form !!)after waiting for 2 years . Best advice use your 6 yrs visa,enjoy,make money and go back.
