My I-485's filing date is January, 2007. At the Nebraska Service Center where my application is, they are currently processing applications dated September 2006. So if everything stays on track, by approximately August/September of this year they will be processing my application.
However, due to my nationality, I will probably get sucked into the name check security/background investigation, which as we know takes a loooooong time. Does anyone know when the name check is started on an application? Is it as soon as it is received, or is it when they start processing? Because if the name check starts in August/September of this year, I will already have lost 8-9 months during which they could have been checking into my background.
Anyone have any information? Thanks.
