Hi Guys,

I have received visa fee bill and will send the fees by end of this week.
When should I apply for PCC?
How many days will it take to get PCC from New York?
I have my passport issued from New Delhi.
Going personally to New York Consulate can speed up the process?

Please suggest.

Thanks

It takes roughly 45 days for you to get your PCC from the
New York consulate, and it is valid for 6 months from the
date of issue.

From what you said in your post, you are likely to have your
interview in the month of September.

So, assuming that you apply now you will get your PCC by about
end of May. So, that will be good timing.

If you go personally to the consulate , that does not cut down
the issue time, but eliminates the worry about sending the
Passport( you can actually mail a photocopy with your application
and when they are ready to issue the PCC, send or take the
original).

Suggestion: Just go ahead and apply for your PCC ASAP. Once you get a confirmation that everything iss clear then you can take your time and get the final PCC stamping as and when required. Then this is a one day job which you can get it done by mail or personally. Your PCC validity starts from the day you have your passport stamped... Not from the day you have appled for.... I hope you get the difference.

GoodLuck,
