When Does USCIS send request for name check

Hi,
I am confused that when USCIS usually sends request to FBI for name check...is it about the same time when you do FP? or actually it is right after filing of I-485? The reason I asked is that I did FP about 1 year later after my I-485 filing, so I am wondering whether my name check actually started way before my FP done, or about the same time..

In mathematical terms it is non-deterministic. USCIS is one of the rare (most) random process managed in US.
