When does USCIS not response to inquiry?

Fellow GC folks:

I made two inquiries to USCIS about my case status in last two months (February 20, March 27). I have not received any response. I wonder this is typical or something extraordinary going on with my file? Please provide me with your experiences and thought.

EB1 NSC
485/140: RD April 2005
140 AD: May 2005
FP: May 2005
NSC processing time: 7/30/2005 world wide (this is the basis of inquiry)

are you expecting them to respond to you within 1-2 months? If your file is in one of the service center, you are probably lucky to hear from them within 3-6 months. However if it's in local office, then another story... you will be stuck there for ever... I am telling you

Thanks buzzhd for your response. Actually I was expecting response in couple of weeks, and from Neb service center. Because when I called 1800 number, the lady told me that usually they respond in 30 days, sometimes it takes 60 days. Some folks mentioned here or NSC485 subgroup they got response within couple of days.
May be not getting any response is not unusaul either.

I received response in a little more than 2 months (and was told it should come within 30 days), this was in Nov-Dec 2005.

Thanks compass for sharing your experience. I guess I have to wait longer to hear from them. I see from your signature, your case got approved after long delay with NC. Congratulations!!
