When does USCIS initiate FBI name check?

Does anyone know for sure when USCIS initiates FBI name check after I-485 is filed? Is it before FP or after FP?

Typically few months after you file your 485
For a few name check has never been requested at all, and they only way toknow that is to write a mail to FBI
