When does the N-400 online status change ?

Does it change after fingerprinting or when the fingerprinting notice is sent ?
 
Dude, forget about the online status check.

My Interview is in 28 days and it still says your N-400 application has been received. (Hasn't changed since day 1)
 
In a great many cases the online status info does not change at all after the initial receipt of the N-400 application. I had my oath on May 14 and my online case status still says the same thing it did in the very beginning: "we received your N-400 application on..."
It never got updated after that.
 
Don't worry about that online status because it is unreliable. They sometimes don't update the status on their system so don't focus on it too much.
