When does the Actual time Start ?

Hello all..

My Parents are going to apply for Visitors Visa to Visit us here in USA this August 2004. I understood that they could get multiple or single entry visa and that is decided by the immigration Officer.

Question is :
1) IF they get single entry visa and they get it stamped on Aug 16 2004, will their 6 months time start from the day they got stamped ?...or will it start only after they land in US ?..

because they ae planning to come to USA in Nov/Dec 2004 and not in Aug 2004.

Any advise is appreciated..

the stamp that ur parents get at the consulate determines when they can enter USA. They can enter any time between the issue date to expiry of visa stamp date.

now at POE their I-94 will be stamped with admitted until date, that's how long they can stay.
This date is usually 6 months ahead from date of sntry but at times can be less too.
