When does INS ask for Proof of STATUS

Hi,

During what period of the entire GreenCard process does the INS demand/check the status of a person i.e. during which stage does the INS require proof that the person has been residing in the US legally the entire time.

This is a good question and I will not be able to give a straight answer.

I am assuming that when we provide the information about
about prior visas, as part of packet 3 submission, some kind
of checks take place.

The contents as I found them were:

1) A bar coded sheet showing the case # with few instructions
on how to sent it back and so on ( this needs to sent back )

2) Few general instruction sheets

3) A set of blank DS 230 Forms.
