Hi Folks,

I'm in the process of getting my US citizenship and plan to apply for PR for my wife who's on H1B once I get my citizenship. I understand that I can file I-130, 485 concurrently but I was not sure when do you need to file I-864 (Affidavit of Support).

Is I-864 to be submitted during the interview or does it need to mailed when we submit I-485? Are there any specific requirements (other than the tax returns) for a self-employed individual

Thanks in advance.

You send it will the forms, which will make your life a lot easier. If you don't send the I-864, you will get an RFE, which is a nice term for missing evidence critical to adjudication of your case. So, once you become a citizen, apply for the passport and send a copy of your naturalization certificate with all the forms, then your wife will ravage you even more...:D
