When do I consider filing a Writ of Mandamus?

My 485 application (USC spouse) has been in FBI name check for a while, when should I consider filing a Writ of Mandamus?

March 2005 - filed for my 485 and 130 (marriage based USC spouse)
Aug 2005 - Interview for 485

I spoke an attorney and he suggested that I do not file a Writ of Mandamus at all since he thought they would not yield any results.

Do I need to wait for at least 2 years since original filing? That means, the earliest I should consider filing is March 2007? Please suggest.
 
I think it's a good time for you to start filing a WOM. Don't know why you lawyer told you not to, maybe he is not experienced in that area? My lawyer said if I don't hear back from them within a year from my application date, I should start filing, so if I don't hear anything back from them by Feb or March, I am taking that path.
