Hi Everyody,

My Company wants me to become a manager of the company from my current position.
My Question is, When can I accept this Promotion? I have filed for I-485 just few weeks back.
By Accepting this promotion, I will have additional duties to my current duties.
Please advise what should I do? and when can I accept this promotion.

As long you have filed I-485 through the same company and your company is willing to support you, I dont see any reason why you should not accept the promotion. In any case, GC is only for a future job. USCIS is never going to know about your promotion, unless you intimate them.

You can always apply the AC21 rule, meaning submitting to the USCIS the nature of the promotions, title, duties, and salary. That way you are proactive and play by the rules openly.

You cannot use AC21 in this case, since USCIS may not interpret a 'Managerial' poisition to be the same as the one that is listed on Permanent LC. For AC21, the job has to be the same or similar classification.

How does one know the new and old jobs are of sam/similar classification?

Is there a placce where I can know what is the classification of my current LC/140 is?

Thanks
