When can I change job?

My I-140 got approved. And I am going to file I-485.
Do I have to wait for 6 month after I-485 is filed to change the job? Does the new job have to be similar to the current one? For example, if I am working in a university, do I have to find a similar job at another university, but can not be in industry? Thanks.

job profile has to be same as listed in LC...u can change jobs only if 140 is approved and 485 is past 180 days from its RD.

But I have submitted marriage-based I-485 and EAD
application. Once I get this EAD approved, is there any
restrictions on what kind of job I can switching to? Thanks.

yes u can rely on ur pending marriage based 485 and work on EAD. There is no 180 days restriction in marriage based cases as there is no 140 crap.
