When can I apply for AP?

My understaning is that as long as I have a pending 485 case, I could file for AP even if the the visa bulletin retrogress back to a date before my priority date. Is that correct? What happen if AOS was filed but haven't received a notice yet? Thanks.

As long as they have your 485 application you can file for AP. Since you did not apply at the same time, you need to include proof (most likely a receipt notice for 485) with your AP application. And I believe you send it to the same same service center that is processing your 485.

I believe recently there was a communication from USCIS that they would accept a 'Fedex' (or other courier) waybill in lieu of 485 receipt (if the receipt has still not been issued). You could try this route if you need the AP urgently. Else I suggest you wait till you get the 485 receipt notice.
