When can i apply for AP?

Hi,

I am in the same boat too but my AP expiring in Feb 2005. I want to know if i apply it now and they approve that in a month or 2....


So what would be new validity date..i know it is valid for a year but it will Feb onwards or the date it will approve one year from there..

it won't be post-dated. My AP was valid until dec04. I applied last month and it was approved in 20 days. But the notice says that it may take 150-180 days and I think for some people it took that long. You can take chance and apply later if you are not in a hurry to go to India or elsewhere. But if you are planning to go home, you better apply now.
 
3 months before the expiry of your AP if you are most likely to travel outside US
 
My Current AP expires on September 21st 2004.

Applied for renewal on June 28th 2004.

Renewal AP Approved on August 14th 2004.

New AP expires by August 15th 2005.

I would say apply before two months period.
