When are these new checks done?

Is the new FBI check done after all 485 processing is complete by a VSC and they send it finally to the FBI - or-

Is it that they first send to FBI, wait, wait,wait,wait....wait and then get a response and then start processing the 485 application.

How does it matter? If 485 processing is done and then waiting for FBI results, then probably no question of RFE/Transfer , but straight forward approval.
Otherwise, you may still expect a RFE/Transfer.
 
My RFE reply was received on OCT 16th (TSC)

They say it went back to an officer on Dec. 21st; but who knows how long it will sit.

The RFE cases get approved quite fast after they receive the reply. Probably people at INS were using up their vacation that won't get carried forward into 2003. And since they went on vacation, the stuff is piled up in their stack/queue. Yours are just days away from approval.:cool:
 
It make sense if they just wait for FBI responce and do rest of the processing in advance,
I hope that is the case.

But I'm not holding my breath since they don't seem to be processing anything.
 
It makes a diffrence for people with RD date after Jan and Feb '02

If the freeze was only for giving out the approvals ..does it mean that the process was going normal for these cases ....and once the response comes from FBI abt Nov cases...then they would send the Name Check For Feb '02 Cases ...

If that
IF is the case then people with Feb '02 and cases after that shd not get affected much (other than adding addnt time to clear back log in the last 2 months)..

So I think that is what he meant by asking whether FBA name check is done before / after the Entire I-485 Process...adjudication...
