What's the I485 procedure?

After submitting our 485s for a year, I found myself still not knowing how the work flows?

If you have your FP done, does that mean the INS will definitely process it soon after they receive the FP result? The reason I ask is the based on the information an IIO lay told me, it seems that even you got your FP done, you might still have to wait on TSC's schedule, which could be long.

So is there a TSC schedule, aside from the National Scheduler (?) for FP?

Thanks,

Well, You have definite done one step toward the GC. The FP alone does not guarantee the time process for the rest of your 485.

When you have the FP done your case will be or already is on hands of an IIO. They have several cases at once how they process this or when your case will be assigned to an officer is a mistery.

When I got my FP and it was back to INS I have to wait less than 2 months to get my approval. Others have to redo the FP after 15months. Why is the difference? who knows?

You know there is a freeze on 485 adjudications (approvals) for the time being.

The dates that TSC publish are the 485 case dates they are processing. This vary alot. If you see I think they are in 2000 and my case was 2002 so there is some factors they use that we don't know. Some people called random others inefficency, whatever. We don't know but they know for sure.

You have to wait and fight with senators, congressman/woman, etc to reduce the backlog.

Good luck in your future GC.

thanks, fidelfs

that's really a mess.
As for contacting congressman, how is that work? should i wait until it's over that painful 700 days after i submitted 485? or i can do it now?
thanks.
