hello,

I'm sorry, i don't know much about Asylum ... Can someone seek Asylum depending on a psychological disorder that he/she got in his/her own country .. I mean if someone has depression, anxiety disorder, borderline disorder and his/her living in their own country makes it worse because of culture clash between him/her and the society, can he/she in this case claim Asylum and be approved?

Is it possible? Yes. Is it easy? No. One must prove that they have been persecuted or have a chance of being persecuted if they return to their country to get asylum. Persecution normally involves physical harm to a person. But, credible threats of severe harm to a person, or psychological trama that physically manifests itself in mental disorders or post-tramatic stress disorder can make a viable claim for asylum. However, asylum officers are not lawyers and are not highly educated. A person who was beaten and stabbed because of their religion, ethnicity, or political beliefs is an easy case for an asylum to grant. A person who never suffered any physical harm in their country and now claims to have mental problems because of the conditions in their country is a more difficult case.

Also, asylum must be proved based on problems due to a person's race, religion, national origin, ethnicity, political opinion or membership in a particular social group (for example being a homosexual in a closed society). What is the "culture clash" you have with your society?
