What do i enter in form i131 if i dont have any intended trips, but am just getting it for having it in case i make a spot decision on a trip.
i am referring specifically to part 3.

also i assume i tick yes at "are you applying for advance parole"?

what should i put in the explanation for why i qualify for advance parole and why i should get it?

i currently am under h1 status but have not yet gone back to get my h1 stamped. technically based on the instructions for 131 i dont need advance parole if im under h1 so can i apply for it later in case i ever need it? or should i apply now anyways?

AP generally takes 2-3 months to be approved, so if you might need it you better apply for it before you really need it, otherwise it could be too late.

Just pick an arbitrary travel date and write the country you're most likely to travel to if something comes up (your original country?). You're not going to be penalized if you travel elsewhere or don't travel at all.

Because you have the H1B, you don't need the AP, however you will need to visit the US consulate in your country (or another country where the US consulate will agree to accept you) to get the H1B stamped* if you don't have AP. And if you use EAD to work for a different employer, your H1B will be void and you will definitely need the AP to exit and reenter the US.

*unless you're Canadian, in which case you don't need the visa stamp, you can enter with your Canadian passport and the H1B approval notice.

thanks i will use an arbitrary date and home country.

does the AP tie in to the date? so if i dont travel on that date, but travel say 4 months later is that AP still good for entry?

Traveling on a different date or to a different country won't be a problem, assuming the AP is tied to your I-485 application. They really don't care if or where or when you travel if you got the AP as a green card applicant, as long as you meet these 3 conditions: (1) leave the US after the AP is approved (2) return before it expires and (3) didn't overstay by 180+ days before filing the I-485.

However, AP is sometimes issued for people other than green card applicants, and those other applicants for AP may need to stick more closely to the stated date or place of travel.

Just say that you are applying for adjustment of status and may need to travel internationally for personal reasons while the I-485 is pending.
