What to make out from this 485 receipt #?

My I140-485 was filed on 9/28. It reached NSC 9/29. (EB2, India). I called USCIS phone number and after long wait, the representive found my wife's receipt # for 485. However she wasn't able to locate mine???? What does this mean?

Then we checked my wife's case status online, which said that 485 was recieved on 5th Oct. I know it reached there on 9/29. Why is it saying 10/5 then? Does that mean my case won't start processing coz of retrogression?

You are O.k. Date received is very important, not the notice date. Your received date must be 09/29. That is the only reason why your wife got the receipt number. Otherwise USCIS would have returned your I-485 application stating that no visa number is available..

Thanks for replying. I checked again, reciept date is Oct 5th. I don't know how this came up though.
