hi all,

I've applied for G.C through my wife who is us citizen. I have already been fingerprinted and give EAD card. Now i have been asked to appear for interview with my spouse. questions i have

1-What they ask in the interview, what should we expect?

2-How long it takes to get papes/G.C after the interview?

3-What to expect after the interview?

Hi ataq

I am not very familiar with family based processing, but to answer your question:

1. In marriage based GC processing, they are mainly concerened with the legitamcay of the marriage. I know they usually ask for things that will prove that you are living together and it is a valid marriage. Thisngs to keep handy: a marriage certificates, wedding photograph, bank statement with joint name, lease/property documents showing both names etc.

2. I believe, once the officer is convinced that the marriage is legitamate, he will stamp your passport then and there.

3. After the interview, you should expect to receive your physical green card in the mail after some time. The offcier wil tell you there that uou should expect in next 6-8 months, but people have been receiving it in 2 weeks to 2 months.
