What to do???

Our (wifes and mine) I-485 was approved on June 24. We received our copy of the approval notice last week. The lawyer has also received the approval notice. Our daughter's case was approved a couple of days after our approval and we received the plastic card last week (that was fast). My lawyer said that they would be sending me the papers so that we can activate our approval which I guess is going to the local INS office for stamping. However the lawyer is not sending me papers as they are waiting for my daughter's approval notice which was mailed by INS on July 1.

I guess my question is: Do I have to wait for the papers from the lawyer to go for passport stamping or can I do it without them?. What is bugging me is that he is waiting of my daughters approval notice even though we have received the card!!!. My guess is that the lawyers wants to make some more money from the process (I am not paying for him, the company is).
Please advice.

Thanks
Manoj

I remember reading in this forum that some people were successful in stamping by showing the email received from INS. In case you didn't have the email ON, take a print out of the approval screen and use it for stamping. I dont think you have to wait for something from the lawyer. Go ahead and do the stamping. Good luck

greengreedy,
From the discussions of our forum members, no stamping is required for your daughter as she received the card and hence don't have to wait for her approval notice (you may just get a welcome notice, instead of approval letter for her).

You should tell your crappy lawyer that part and get your notices and get the stamping done. If you have courtesy copies, you can also use the same for stamping purposes, I believe.

Go for stamping with your courtesy copy of approval. No need to wait for original approval notice from your attorney.
