What to do with white I-94 card after I-551 stamp?

Hi All,

Yesterday, I got my I-551 stamp on my passport. The IIO gave me back my I94 (I was on H1 when I got it) and said not to keep it with my passport anymore. My wife also got it stamped in her city and the IIO there did not give her the I-94 back. So what should I do? send it to USCIS or just keep it with me as it is not needed anymore.

Am I correct that an I-94 will be issued only if you are on a non-immigrant visa? Now, If I leave US and come back, will I be given an I-94 or not?

Also, the IIO did not give me back my I-797 approval notice.

Thanks

Dont bother if the IIO did not bother to keep it.

Basically forget about all this I94. You are in PR man!. So dont worry abt the I94 you dont need it anymore.

Thanks

CONGRATULATION on pp stamp.

yes Titan01 is right you dont need I-94 any more. Just an advice make photocopies of your stamp to keep them in a safe place.

You might want to keep the I-94 attached to the I-797 (Visa approval notice, if any) of the VISA you entered the US on, which got you the I-94. (if this was a VISA renewal I-94, then you can staple it back to the I-797 from which it came).

The reason is, they want all papers again for a citizenship application, and you do not want to worry about missing I-94s at that time :)
