what to do when moving to a differnent center during I485?

I got I-140 approved on EB1-EA and filed I-485 to Vermont in January/2001. FP was done in May/01. Now I am moving to california for a better job. Based on the current processing speed in Vermont, I expect the approval of my I-485 by the end of this year. Should I volunteer the job change information to INS so they can transfer my file to the local INS in CA? I am afraid of losing my file during the transfer and the delay caused by the transfer and possibly the local INS office. If I don\'t\' tell INS about the move, can I count on Vermont to send the notice to my friend\'s NY address if it is
approved without RFE?

Thanks,
J

I am also in the same boat. I have changed job and moved in NSC
area. I didn\'t volunteer any information to INS yet. My lawyer said
it is better not to till they open my case. But I am not so sure.
I would be very grateful if you please share whatever info you can
collect in this regard

Did you at least tell INS the change of address?

I thought that is required by law. I heard somebody just left INS his friend\'s address in the same area, but don\'t know what happened afterwards.

Is it OK to give friends address who is residing in the same state , in case we are moving to a different service center during I485 process. Will the INS issue any RFE's asking for proof of residence for the new address.

Any suggestions are appreciated.

thanks
