What Social Security Card Do You Have for Pending Asylum?

I'm in pending asylum but already obtained my work permit and social security card. However, there is a sentence "VALID FOR WORK ONLY WITH DHS AUTHORIZATION" on the card. Though I have my C(8) word permit, I was denied a job after the interview because the restriction sentence on my social security card. I wonder has anyone experienced a similar situation? If you are also in pending asylum and have obtained your social security card, is there the same sentence on your card also? Thank you very much!!

Yes, on all social security cards based on pending asylum application is written that sentence. But the employer can't deny your job because of that, unless it is required to be permanent resident or citizen to accept that job. I think you applied for a position that requires at least permanent residency or citizenship and that's why they denied your job.

yes my friend they denied me for 4 times in interview job thats reason was social security and also my work permit. they know this is temporary document.
i have been written in the other thread about EAD. your EAD that's not important don't worry about it. you have to worry and waiting about your interview thats very very important . my EAD was pending about 5 months and I'm didn't worry because i knew thats not important document .

Thank you! But unfortunately, it's only a job at McDonald's. I'm really hopeless since McDonald's even wants an UNRESTRICT ead... The work permit seems to be useless.
