What should we do?

Hi all,
A little history before we post our questions.
I received my Green Card in January of 2007. My job required me to travel to India to do some recruitment and even before I had received my Green Card I used to travel on the Advance Parole.
I got married in November of 2007 and decide that I was going to stay in India for a bit. My job and also a business that I owned in the US allowed me to do that and I was traveling back and forth every couple of months without any issues. Unfortunately things did not go as planned the business went bust in 2008 and I lost everything I had, in fact I have to also close all my accounts in the next few months since I was the personal guarantor for a few things.
My Wife has a 10 year tourist Visa and has visited the US on several occasions. I applied for a re-entry permit in March of 2008 and received it in September of 2008. All this while I have been making sure that I travel to the US before the 6 month duration. Even though I have the re-entry permit I plan on coming to the US once every 6 months.

Questions:

1. I will be visiting the US in march, at the port of entry should I show both my green card and the re-entry permit?
2. We were planning to use a lawyer and file for wife under family 2A. Does that mean my wife will not be able to enter the US for the next few years. We are technically both still single, nothing filed in any court. Her job does require her to visit the US once a year. Should we file for her?
3. I really have no ties to the US anymore besides still having my car there, unfortunately I can't own a home because anything on my name will get taken away.
4. What do you all recommend?

Thank you.

I think that your doors to America are still open until your re-entry permit expires (this is why you have it).

From what I read every day on forums ... I would relax and year later from now you will see how things are going. Then you will have 2 options:

- travel back for good
- surrender GC and apply for tourist visa instead

Thanks.

Surrendering Green card is not an option. I beleive another Re-entry permit could be applied for after the current one expires.

I would love to be in the US now but just can't seem to find a job in my field.

Yes, you could get another reentry permit, but it might be for only 1 year.

Your wife could have problems visiting the US with a B1/B2 visa after you have filed her I-130. Depends on whether they notice the I-130 at the port of entry.
