what shall I do if I need to transfer to another city?

Hi guys,
I am a July 2nd filer and I'm still waiting for receipts of 140/485. However, I need to transfer to another city ---same company, same job (title and responsibilities). My lawyer said it's only safe to do it after 180 days. My question is, how does USCIS know that I transfer to another site? Payroll record? If so, can I start working on site B first but keep my HR/payroll in site A (current site)? Another question: if our group cannot be here (site A) that long, what can I do?

From my experience, BCIS does not care too much about location. I moved states and notified them of my change via a letter from attorney. No RFE or any impact (that I could tell) for invoking AC21.
