All,

My perm labor was filed on Sep 14, 2005 and approved on Sep 20, 2005. I filed for my I-140 and I-485 on Sep 28, 2005. USCIS came back with an RFE for my medicals which was submitted on March 16, 2006. I got my finger printing done - twice, in fact, once in Feb 2006 and a second time in May 2007. Now that the PD is current, my attorney tells me that the GC approval could come in 30 days. I took an Infopass and the officer was able to see that my name check is cleared and the system has the information on my fingerprinting done in May 2007, although I could not see the update on the USCIS website. I was wondering if anyone could tell me if my attorney is correct.

I have heard that there is a validity period for the Finger Prints. True/False?

What about Medicals, Is there a validity period for the records submitted or in other words, does it expire and do we have to do it again?

Thanks

Good luck with your approval. As you must have seen in this forum, no one knows when your case will be approved. There are many from 2001 still waiting and 2005 have gotten approved.

To answer your Qs. FP is valid for 15 months and Medical is valid for the life of your I-485 petition, meaning medicals dont expire until the related I-485 is adjudicated.

Thank you sun_07. I have heard of country wise limits. 2800?? BTW, I am from India. Do they ( USCIS) give out according to the Priority Date of the labor or the Receipt Date of the 485?
