Having given up on the US immigration process I started half heartedly on the Canadian PR. My Dates are:
Applied on:6/15/04
File # recvd on:7/21/04
Interview Waived
Asked for W2 for last 5 yrs
Medical/PC : 2/15/05

Okay now here are my questions:
1. They have asked for original W2 for the last 5 yrs.....I dont want to send them the originals....will notarized copies do?
2. I am planning to go to the local police station for the fingerprinting and then send the papers along with the money to FBI. Is this the right way or do i need to do something else?
3. I have read conflicting views about getting the PC from India....some say that send PP to Indian Consulate here in SF and some say get it from India.I am totally confused about this.....does this PC have anything to do with the local police station from my home town...meaning that I need to get a letter from them...or from where.....can someone detail this part please....ALL THE details....because I will have to ask my parents and my in-laws for these PC...I want to be sure about what I am asking them...
4. My wife is 4 months pregnant....and cannot take the x-ray as part of the medical...is that okay?
5. We are expecting a baby in Aug 05...now I read somewhere on one of the forms that we have to inform canadian immigration about change of family status....do I need to do anything right now.....or wait till Aug and then send them the information if the process is not completed by then (I know Im being optiomistic :)
6. What is the latest date I have to be in Canada...is it within 1 yr from the medical date or 1 yr from the VISA stamping date....and what does that really mean....can I just go there for a day....meaning go there for a week and then come back to US till my H1 expires and then get back to Canada....am I missing something....

--A lot of people here are on the same boat & still sailing :)

1. I sent copies as I believe most others did too.

2. That sounds right.

3. I did not have to do that so wouldnt be able to answer it.

4. I think that you would have to wait till your wife has your baby to continue with your medicals and your application.

5. See 4 above.,

6. 1 yr from your medical. As per the rules now, you can stay out of Canada 3 years out of 5 and still maintain your Canadian PR. So if your H1 expires within 3 yrs after you land, yes.

(Try browsing the bufallo tracker thread it would have most answers already)
 
Hey sapota1...thanx for your answers...there are still a couple which went unanswered and I would appreciate if anyone else can answer it...
to summarize the ones that went unanswered:
1. As per the response I am planning to send in notorized copies of my W2...I saw another thread today which talks about W2...what is everyone else doing?
2. I think I understand this one...I will follow up with the local police station!!
3. Have no idea...still need answer to this one...

4. Well I dont think I can wait till Aug or rather it would be advisable to wait till Aug because:
a) They want all the docs in 90 days..
b) I am pretty sure that they would understand something as common as this and would exempt her from the X-ray (though I have stopped applying common sense to all matters related to immigration!!!)
Is there anyone who was in this kind of situation...please pipe up...how did you get the medical done for your pregnant wife??
5. ahhh....I think I will worry about this later...I think I already have my hands full for now :)
6. sapota1 did try to answer it but I am not sure I completly understand the answer.....can I go to Cananda for a day and come back...live in the US till my 6 yr limit and then go back to Canada.....can I do this?
