what means "Service consideration?

Hi, everyone

My I485 filed on 11/2001, and this January, I called USCIS to ask the case status, two weeks ago I got a mail from USCIS which showed " application is still pending Service consideration".

What does it mean? How to do next step?

A typical reason would be name/security checks !!!!! Hope you get your approval very soon ...all the very best !!!

Any one know the difference between Application with "Service consideration" and "Adjudicating Officer"?

Is that same?
 
i know for sure that in my case Service Consideration took a total of 4 months and case pending Adjudication (file with an officer) took about 1 month.

How did u come to know your applicaiton was pending Service Consideration for 4 months. I got a letter which was dated MArch 12 2005 stating in was pending Service Consideration.

I just wanted to know how long it will take from now. I got a reply from FBI saying that my name check was sent back to USCIS on Aug 12, 2003 itself.

My case is still pending service consideration from last 19 weeks..

140 /1-485 Rd 04/11/03
I-140 : ad 03/04.
fP1 done : 2/15/04.
I-485 LUD : 10/10/04.
I-485 Status inquiry on 11/22/04 asked me to wait 120 days pending service consideration. Nothing happend till now
Fbi got back a response saying that name check completed on 05/07/03.
I-485 approved date ???????

I got the 60 days Pending Service Consideration as well ,on march 29th 05

I am not sure what that mean does any one know ..and got approved after this message.. any body please write

throw some light on pending service consideration

I am in the same state as you all with pending service consideration.

Anyone who has asked USCIS what means pending service consideration please let us know. I have been waiting for about 2 months from this message.

Below is what I got in mail.
In response to my enquiry I got a letter from Uscis with mesg: In response to your request... your application is pending service consideration and If nothing has changed or did't get any response 30 days from this date. Contact national customer service........


I485 EB3 (Non concurrent) Nd Around July 03
my PD is current since long time
Fp Done: sep 04

I called up USCIS and recieved a letter . This was right after I did my FP(Aug 2004). This had a message "Pending Service Consideration".

Around 4 months after that I was talking to Congressmen's office I was told that my file is with an officer and I will hear back from them soon. This was in early Dec 2004 . I was approved on Dec 30, 2004
