I have read several posts and some people have original FP date and walk in FP date. what is the difference? How does it work?
Can you go earlier?
Usually, the letter advises you that you can go any wednesday afternoon AFTER your FP date up to a 3 month grace period. Many people have attempted early FP, and it works most of the time, but it does not work sometime. Depends on how busy they are and how good's your excuse.
After you receive FP letter, you can try walk in. As per experts they would not entertain you without FP letter. Mostly they accept walk in if you have a good reason why you cannot make it for appointed day.

By doing early Walk-In FP, does it speed up the process by 15 - 20 days? any thoughts? if it does, I think, it is worth a try.

Yes, if you go early 15-20 days before your actual FP scheduled date.
