What is the use of EAD if there is no 140 Approval

I just want to know, what all I (& spouse) can do if we have EAD, and H1 is valid till 2006. Can spouse start working? what are pros and cons?? I see more disadvantages than advantages with this, using EAD without I140 approval.

can we travel on h1 visa if spouse start working on EAD??

in theory you can change jobs using EAD
But it is risky without an approved I-140

you can travel no problem, apply for advance parole if you havent till now.
