Right now I have valid H1 and Advance Parole. In Nov I am going to India for 3-4 weeks visit. What is best choice to re-enter in to USA?

Recently one of my friend re-entered with Advance pay rol, then immigration officer at the port of landing told him that if you re-enter with Advance payroll your 485 processing will be faster.
How it is related to 485 processing? How far it is true?
What is the status by any chance 485 returned?
