What is the maximum duration to respond to an RFE ??

Can someone throw somelight on the maximum duration we got to respond to RFE after the RFE is issued ??

My Freind got the RFE issued on 01/19/2005. I guess the RFE was sent to the attorney's office.

So I would like to know by when they need to respond to the RFE..RFE was on 485..

It will be on notice it self. usualy 12 weeks of time is provided for response.
 
Thank you tammy..But I thought the timeline to respond to an RFE from the date RFE was issued was changed to a maximum of 30 days...Is it not so ?? ..

May be i am in-correct...??
