Is it true that the maximum duration of the visitor's visa to Canada (Tempporary Resident Visa, TRV) is strictly for 6 months ????

I need to visit Canada multiple times in 2005/2006......

If you are talking about a TRV (from a non visa exempt country) it can be either single entry or multiple entry, valid up to 5 years. If you are issued a Multiple entry TRV you could be admitted as many times as you want (or as Immigration deems necessary). Each admission could be as long as 6 months or less depending on what you request from Immigration on admission. Remember that your Canadian visitor status expires each time you depart Canada.
