what is the difference

all of us know that we can file I140 and I485 together and we will be issued an EAD after abt 3 months.

i have been reading that we may also file for 485 if we have the receipt for I140. what is the difference in this case . when do we get the EAD in this case.

I think both are same, filing together means before getting I-140 approval we can file I-485. filing together means receiving I-140 receipt notice, with that reference one can file I-485. EAD takes as per I-765 receipt date as per my knowledge.
