What is the "day" in receipt number?

I had a question of the day thing in the receipt number. wac-02-"day"-5xxxxx

If you think of it as day 1 to 365, mine almost matches up, but it doesn't completely.

My EAD received date: 9/13/02 but my INS day thing is wac-02-280.. If you calculate it out day 274 is September 1st. And day 280 is September 7th..

Why is there a 6 day gap? Thanks.

my rd is nov-01, but my receipt number is wac-02-052 !!

it should have been wac-02-052-031 according to your calculation.

I am also wondering how they got 052 ?,is the five digit number after this is the total number of cases registered that day ?

any comments ??
