what is the best solution?

Hello all ~

I am new to these forums and have spent the last 5 hours reading through multiple materials online trying to figure out the best possible solution for my fiance and I.

I am a US citizen and he is a German citizen. We have known one another for over a year, have met in person and know that we want to spend the rest of our lives together.

*enter governmental issues*

I have read up on the nightmares people have been experiencing with filing the I-129F for a fiance and have read some issues that others have experienced with the I-130.

My question is this. He is planning on visiting me again in April. We have talked about just going ahead and getting married while he is here and then working with both of us here on filling out and filing all the necessary paperwork. I realize that this probably means having his non-waiver VISA extended in the meantime. At least this way, we can be together through the nightmare process. Otherwise, going the I-129 route would entail him staying in Germany and me being here and us having to wait who knows how many months/years (!) until we can finally be together.

Which is the better solution? It's really sad. I completely understand that the government is taking all necessary precautions through this process but come on! Some people are doing this because they truly love one another and want to be together....and not that they are just trying to pull something over on the law :(

Please advice. We don't want to do anything illegal or that will cause us problems in the future but we want to be together...and now!

Many thanks in advance....
