What is the application fee for permanent residence???

Hello
I am applying for permanent residency for canada and have basic questions.
What is the processing fee ( i guess it is $550 canadian dollar)?? How do we send the money??Will regular cheque do?? We are 2 and can i add and include the payment for both of them in a single cheque?? I am in USA and how exact the amount should be when it is converted to US dollars?? Sorry for such questions but i tried reeaching their office and it is an automated message and on the web site the information is not clear??

You need to refer the Buffalo CIC site for US Specific fees and procedures. Here is the link http://www.dfait-maeci.gc.ca/can-am/menu-en.asp?mid=5&cat=68 Scroll down and click on FEES.

The fees in US $ is 400 for each person. They only except Money Order or Bacnk/Cashiers Check. You can send a combined check/MO for both.
