If you were under 26 years of age and were in US on any status other than lawful non-immigrant, and you are a male then you are required to register. That means, if you got your green card when you were younger than 26 years OR were out-of-status / illegal, then you have to register. If you were on F1/H1B or any other non-immigrant visa then you do not need to register.
