What is my status in USA

Hello!

My H1 is with "X"-company with whom I am presently working for "X-A" client.

I filed I-485 with "Y" company and my EAD is due for one more month. (expecting july end).

My "X" company will cancel my H1 once I get my P.O. terminated by "X-A" client (which is going to happen by June'30th).

Do I need to find an employer for filing a new H1 or am I in status because I filed I-485.

Please somebody help me.

You will be in the status even after they cancel your H1B, because your I-485 is pending. But you CANNOT work with any company, if you don't have H1B for that company or EAD. If your I-485 notice date is more than 90 days old, then you can get the IEAD from the local Office.
