What is my best option?

Hello, I am USC, planing to file I-130 for my mother and brother.Isn't it faster to file for my mother and after she gets GC have her to do it for unmarried son? Or should I do it for both at the same timemeaning I do it now and file again for my brother, with mother sponsering on another I-130 as a backup,Consedering my other's age(75 years old) and finally what will happen to I-130 if petitioner dies? Does petition dies with it or i-130 still will be resumed even when petioner dies?
I am really confused that what will be the best and safest option since it might take very long time and I do not want to wait for years and roll back to the same spot.
I really appreciate if someone could give me some idea or redirect me to some related posts.
Thanks

Apply for both. When your mom gets GC she can apply for him too. At least if something happens (knock on wood!) he'll still has one of the petitions in place.

Thank you for the tip, So basically if something happenes to petitioner, whole thing will be out of window, Right?

Well. Not quite. If 130 was approved before something happened to petitioner, the applicant has close relative in US who are GC holders or USC (like siblings or another parent) and who will be the sponsor for him/her, and applicant can proof the need to be in US (I think it's called "humanitarian reasons" or something like that) he/she can still proceed with green card when the PD becomes current. If you google there are number of good sites (like Murphy or Shusterman) talking about such situations.

That is a good news, So if they approve I-130, there is still possibility that beneficiary can immigrate even if petiyioner dies? To be honest with you it is hard for me to file twice and pay fees since I will file for 7 of my sibiling.( God bless my mother, I just realized how she did this many times)
