Hi,

I am married to an American citizen. I filed my I-485 and I-130 applications at the end of December 2005 and got the receipts for these forms. The receipt date is December 30, 2005 and the Notice date is January 30, 2005. My receipt number starts with the letters "MSC" instead of EAC, WAC, LIN, or SRC. Can anybody please tell me what this means and if there is anything wrong with my application status?

When I tried to check my application status online from the USCIS website, it gave the following message:

"Status for this Receipt Number cannot be found at this time in this automated system. Please check your case receipt number to see if it is correct. If you have questions or concerns about your case status, please contact the service center where you submitted your application."

I would appreciate it very much if anybody can answer to the above query. Thanks.

my case

My online status showed up after 10 days, some people's took less or more time, some never showed up. Dont pay too much attention to the online website.

I remember sb on this forum wrote that recipe nb starting with MSCxxxx ... means Missouri Service Center.
My rec. nb starts also with MSC. Checking my envelopes, there's the sender address, which confirms that my case took the begining in Missouri SC.

...and of course there's nothing wrong with your application, if you are concerned about "MSC" term.
That's just another service center.
Take care and good luck!
