What is going on?

My layer's respond to my question as quoted:

Adjudication continues. However, after a case is favorably adjudicated, no approval is issued until the security clearance is complete. No way of knowing how long it may take to complete. Writing to a congressman will not harm, but is not likely to help.

Same response from my lawyer

I spoke to my lawyer yesterday.
He said he went to an interview with one of his clients
Everything went Ok, but at the end INS officer told him that he can grant him the GC untill freeze ends.

He said adjudication is continuing.

Massive reorg at INS

I forsee a long and tedious reorg of INS due to its recent merger with the DHS. So there is not going to be any flood of appeovals. Why would there be anyway? INS officers are not awaiting with baited breaths to approve us. They are always on the look out for an excuse to delay approvals.

So in a nutshell, we are screwed for good and for very long. Those who got approved in the flurry of approvals after 9/11/ are the lucky ones. We missed out on that.

May be after March.

Approvals might start coming in sometime in April/May '03. I was told by my attorney that INS is busy with the security registration process until Feb 10th and meanwhile, with the limited INS staff available they will be adjudicating the 485's pending security clearance. As somebody explained in this board you will be seeing a change in status online or AVM only if they raise a RFE on your case.
So hang on guys 4 months to go.Think about EAD/AP renewals instead. I only wish AG will not include India or China in the list of countries that requires registration. If that is the case forget about the GC for another 3 years.

hope SM is right

I am an eternal optimist. I just hope INS IS processing 485 applications and flagging them as approved and moving those applications to the security clearance queue. So MAYBE once the computer systems / security checks (and all other BS #@*&$) is in place, we can see a steady sream of approvals.
