What is FP review?

I received am email from uscis, which says:

On September 26, 2005, the results of your fingerprint review for your I485 Application to Register Permanent Residence or to Adjust Status were received, and processing has resumed on your case.

I don't quite understand what is "fingerprint review". Does that mean that my FP passed and would go onto the Name check?

Thank you very much

that's just the standard wording everyone gets. FP review I believe is something CIS got your FP and is ready or has already been sent to FBI for criminal record review and name check as well.

You don't need to worry about that because it is done automatically once you were taken finger print. However one thing does bother every applicants is the timeframe FBI conducting the name check. It could be somewhere around 3-4 months to 2 or 3 years.

I thought the FBI Name check starts even before you submitt your fingerprints or biometrics?

I had the same question.

Do you not need biometrics to start your name check? How come some posts here say their I485 was approved before they got their biometrics done.

The name check by FBI is done for all the 485 cases or they select randomly?
What cause delay for name check? Is the common name cause delay?
